Terms of use

Last updated 21 August 2026.

By using this site you accept these terms. They are written to be readable rather than impressive.

1. What this site is

Biomedical Publications is a free reference compiling publicly available data about biomedical journals. We are not a publisher, we operate no journal, and we accept no manuscripts. We charge nothing to use the site.

2. Accuracy, and its limits

The data comes from third-party sources, principally OpenAlex and DOAJ, and is a snapshot from when the site was last built. It may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong, including in ways we have not noticed.

Always confirm publication charges, scope and policies with the journal itself before submitting or paying anything. Every journal page links to the source. Where our figure and the journal's own figure disagree, the journal is right.

The site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose.

3. Not professional advice

Nothing here is legal, financial, medical or professional advice, and using the site creates no advisory relationship. Decisions about where to submit research, what to pay, and how to meet an institution's publication requirements are yours. Where a degree, promotion or funding condition depends on a journal's indexing status, verify it with the index and with your institution — not with us.

Content in the research section links to third-party scientific articles. Those are the work of their authors. We do not endorse their findings, and nothing in them constitutes clinical guidance.

4. No statement about any journal's character

We publish verifiable facts about journals, drawn from public records. We do not state or imply that any journal is fraudulent, predatory, or of poor quality, and nothing on this site should be read as such a claim.

Where a verification check is shown as unconfirmed, that means only that we could not verify it in the sources we use. It is not an allegation. Many reputable journals will show unconfirmed checks simply because they sit outside the open-access registries.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of this site or reliance on its data — including fees paid, submissions made, time lost, or decisions taken. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

6. Acceptable use

You may use the site freely for research and professional purposes. Please do not:

If you receive an email claiming to represent this site and inviting you to publish or pay, it is fraudulent. We never contact researchers to solicit submissions.

7. Intellectual property

The underlying facts come from CC0 and openly licensed sources and we claim no ownership of them. Our written content, design and the structure of the compilation are ours. Cite and link freely.

8. Third-party links

We link to publishers, registries and articles we do not control and are not responsible for. Some links may be affiliate links; see ourdisclosure.

9. Corrections and contact

If something here is wrong, tell us and we will look at it. Most errors originate upstream, in which case the fix belongs at the source and will flow through on the next rebuild — but we want to know either way.

10. Changes

These terms may change; the date at the top will reflect it. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
